Covington's Tammany Trace trailhead features a campanile, bandstand and amphitheater, and a visitor center featuring rotating art exhibits. The trailhead serves as a resting station for visitors walking or cycling the 31-mile Tammany Trace. Public restrooms on-site.

The trailhead also is site of free concerts, arts & crafts markets, festivals, and a lunchtime farmers market on Wednesdays, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. (Saturday's market is held nearby on the grounds of the Covington Police Dept., 608 N. Columbia St.).

The center is open Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to  2 p.m., Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sunday, 12-4 p.m. Admission is free.

The facility is available for private event rental. The spacious indoor/outdoor setting may be tailored for events ranging from 100 to 1,500 guests. Rental fee includes use of the outdoor stage, covered market depot, two handicap-accessible restrooms and access to electrical outlets and water. For information on rentals, or groups and school field trips, or to donate artifacts to the museum, please call the Facilities Manager at (985) 867-1206.
