Dancescape Studio is proud to present the 51st annual performance of “A Joyful Noise Unto The Lord.” Directed and produced by Dancescape Studios' Jessica Boudreau and Rebecca Boudreau with assistant directors to be announced, this holiday tradition continues the choreography of the late Rosemerry Fuhrmann Hanian.
First performed in the original chapel building of St. Scholastica Academy in 1966, “A Joyful Noise Unto The Lord” is an original Christmas program conceived by Rosemerry Fuhrmann Hanian, a distinguished choreographer, educator and founder of The Creative Dance Center in Covington. "Mrs. Rosemerry" was a cultural leader in Covington for many years, teaching many youth and touching many lives in and around the community. For decades, hundreds of talented young women and men danced this performance and Jessica Boudreau, former student of Hanian and owner of Dancescape Studio, continues to keep this holiday tradition alive.
This December, a group of over fifty children, teenagers and adults will perform to celebrate the Christmas season through carol dances such as “Coventry Carol." The show will also include live music performances band a recreation of the Nativity through dance, set to the music of Johann Sebastian Bach’s Magnificat.
Dancers starring in this year's production will be announced as the event nears.
The one-time only performance of “A Joyful Noise Unto The Lord” will be presented on Saturday, December 9, 2017 at 6:00pm in the Fuhrmann Auditorium of the Greater Covington Center, located at 317 N. Jefferson Avenue, Covington, LA 70433. Admission is $10 per person, and tickets are available at the door. Dancescape Studio will be accepting donations to help maintain and refurbish their many beautiful costumes.
