The Abita Springs Push Mow Parade rolls from the Abita Trailhead at 11am on Saturday, February 3, 2018. The theme will be announced in October.
Mayor Greg Lemons will toast royalty at Town Hall during the family-friendly parade. All viewers are encouraged to costume. Kids 12 and under can win prizes for their costumes at the down-home Party in the Park. Prizes are awarded to outstanding parade participants during the free after-party at the Trailhead. Beer, food, and soft drinks will be available for purchase and live music will be performed on the Abita Beer Stage.
Please note that highways through Abita Springs will close around 10:45. Visitors should arrive early in order to avoid the disruption to the usual traffic flow.
The Krewe of Push Mow was founded by Abita Springs artists who thought it would be funny pushing decorated lawn mowers in a parade - thus the name "Krewe of Push Mow." The organization takes pride in its original themes, humorous floats, marching groups, and costumes. It is produced by the Abita Springs Trailhead Museum and Town of Abita Springs.
