The City of Covington, Louisiana welcomes you to the inaugural Candlelight Caroling at the Trailhead, Thursday, December 14, 2017 at 7pm. Join in the holiday fun at Covington's trailhead of the Tammany Trace, located at 419 N. New Hampshire Street.
The Crispin Schroeder Band will dazzle the crowd with favorite holiday tunes and Northlake Performing Arts Society's chorale will jump in with Christmas carols. They will be joined by Jazz vocalist Jamie Planchard (Louisiana Academy of Performing Arts) and singer/songwriter and former NOCCA student Maddi Tripp, delighting the crowd with “Have Yourself a Merry little Christmas.” The magical evening closes with candlelight and caroling for all as the audience is invited to join in singing “Silent Night."
“This family friendly event will be memorable and enjoyed by all,” says Amy Tucker, City of Covington Event Coordinator. Refreshments and libations will be available for purchase from Beck 'n Call Café, The English Tea Room & Eatery, Kiwanis Club of Greater Covington and Covington Business Association. The Junior League of Greater Covington will also sell its popular Roux to Do Cookbook. The public is encouraged to bring lawn chairs for seating at the open-air pavilion.
Generous donations help to make the trailhead especially festive. The beautiful Christmas tree was generously donated by the New Orleans Advocate and St. Tammany Farmer. Christmas poinsettias decorating the Covington Trailhead were a gift from Hancock Whitney Bank.
