On May 6, 2017, Crawfish Cookin’ for a Cause, a 501(c)3 charitable organization supporting local families affected by catastrophic illness, will hold its sixth annual fundraising event. In 2016, thousands of members of the community turned out, had a great time and made a difference.
Admission is $25 for adults, children 10 and under, free. Admission includes all the crawfish you can eat, and a concession stand including hot dogs and chips will also be available.
This year’s worthy recipients are Project Red Light for Hope, assisting families with the financial burden of treating ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease); Grant's Gift Foundation, which provides a network of resources to improve the lives of individuals with special needs, with a primary focus on underprivileged and disabled children, and the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, whose mission is to cure cystic fibrosis (CF) by funding research and drug development, promoting individualized treatment and ensuring access to high-quality, specialized care. The fundraising goal for 2017 is $75,000.
