The historic Dew Drop Jazz Hall in Old Mandeville closes out the fall season with its annual Christmas show with the dynamic, traditional sounds of the Peter Harris Trio featuring Germaine Bazzle, New Orleans’ premier jazz vocalist, on Friday, December 15th.
Presented by the Friends of the Dew Drop, this performance will run from 6:30pm-9:00pm and will feature home-cooked food for purchase provided by the First Free Mission Baptist Church, located next door. Soft drinks, water, beer and wine will be available for purchase. A merchandise table includes hats and T-shirts; cash only. Tickets available at the door only; $10 for adults, free for students.
ABOUT THE DEW DROP
The Dew Drop Social & Benevolent Jazz Hall is located at 430 Lamarque Street in Old Mandeville, 3 1/2 blocks from the north shore of Lake Pontchartrain between Monroe and Madison Streets. Free parking is available across the street, along both sides of Lamarque and throughout the neighborhood.
Owned by the City of Mandeville, it is on the National Register of Historic Places. It is managed by the non-profit Friends of the Dew Drop who all volunteer to bring music to the historic site and preserve and protect it. It also manages an outreach program called Dew Drop JazzKids wherein local jazz musicians conduct programs on jazz music for elementary school students in St. Tammany Parish.
