Traditional jazz and blues dominate the fall concert series at the historic Dew Drop Social & Benevolent Jazz Hall in Old Mandeville, starting September 22, 2017 and continuing through December 15. The ambitious lineup includes seven Friday night performances, featuring blues, Latin jazz, gospel and Mardi Gras Indian music, among other local, celebrated genres.

All shows, produced by the non-profit Friends of the Dew Drop, will be on Friday nights from 6:30-9 pm with one exception: Gospel Night on October 6 begins at 6pm.

Admission for each concert is $10 at the door. Friends of the Dew Drop members will maintain a beverage center for a nominal fee and offer souvenir Dew Drop merchandise. The members of the First Free Mission Baptist Church next door will offer hearty, home-cooked meals for a nominal fee.

The sassy harmonic trio Pfister Sisters from New Orleans takes the stage in true vocal unity

Mardi Gras Indian music will be the highlight, featuring Indian Blue, a collaboration of Johnny Sansone, John Fohl and Big Chief Monk Boudreaux

Rising star & in-demand trombonist and vocalist David L. Harris will headline a one-of-a-kind jazz performance

Friday, December 15th, 6:30 – 9:00pm
The Dew Drop closes out the season with its annual Christmas show with the dynamic, traditional sounds of the Peter Harris Trio featuring Germaine Bazzle, New Orleans’ premier jazz vocalist.

******Owned by the City of Mandeville, the Dew Drop is on the National Register of Historic Places. It is managed by the non-profit Friends of the Dew Drop who all volunteer to bring music to the historic site and preserve and protect it. It also manages an outreach program called Dew Drop JazzKids wherein local jazz musicians conduct programs on jazz music for elementary school students in St. Tammany Parish.
