When two dynamic southern artists bring together their unique visions and artistic intentions, what results is Intersections. The exhibition features the work of Meredith Pardue and Sarah Wiseman, now open for viewing at St. Tammany Art Association.

Due to Mardi Gras festivities, the reception for the exhibition is Saturday, March 10, from 6 to 9 pm at St. Tammany Art Association's Art House, however, the exhibition runs February 10 and will remain on view in the STAA Art House through Saturday, March 31, 2018. Gallery hours are Tuesday through Friday, 10 am to 4 pm and Saturdays, 11 am to 4 pm. The exhibition is free and open to the public.

Meredith Pardue grew up in Monroe, Louisiana and currently lives in Austin, Texas. Her luminous paintings of organic shapes are in many public and corporate collections in Louisiana and Texas, and will be featured in upcoming exhibitions in New York and Paris.  The artist uses deliberate mark making to describe forms which often appear floral or plantlike in structure.

Sarah Wiseman is an accomplished mixed media painter and educator. She served a term on the Artists Advisory Board for St. Tammany Art Association and taught painting in the Visual Arts Department at Southeastern Louisiana University while based on the north shore prior to her move to New Orleans. Through her work, Wiseman seeks to “examine the intersection between objects and spaces, such as the internal structure of buildings or the intricacies of woven nets.”

Together, the works of Wiseman and Pardue intersect in vigorous handling of paint and individual surfaces each creates.

St. Tammany Art Association is located at 320 N Columbia St. in downtown Covington, Louisiana. This event is supported by a grant from the Louisiana Division of the Arts, Office of Cultural Development, Department of Culture, Recreation and Tourism, in cooperation with the Louisiana State Arts Council, and as administered by the St. Tammany Commission on Cultural Affairs. Funding also has been provided by the National Endowment for the Arts/ArtWorks.
