The 59th annual Krewe of Covington Lions Club parade, traditionally a small truck and wagon parade ideal for families, gets a big boost in 2017, recalling a time when the Lions Club parade was much larger. This year, the lineup includes walking groups, musicians, riders, antique car owners and more, and will be led by Honorary Grand Marshal Lt. Governor Billy Nungesser. The theme is to be announced.

The Lions Club parade begins at 10am and the Mystic Krewe of Covington parade rolls immediately after. Then, a two-hour post-parade celebration will be held at the Covington Trailhead, featuring entertainment, food and family fun.

Founded in 1959 by the civic society Covington Lions Club, proceeds support the cost of exams and eyeglasses for low-income individuals. Follows the same route as the Krewe of Olympia.
