Come to Pelican Park's Castine Center in Mandeville on June 23, 2018 for the 7th Annual Larry Hartzog Twisted Brew Fest and Home Brewer's Competition!
This year promises to be bigger and better than ever. First, the typically rain-or-shine event will be INSIDE the Castine Center (that’s A/C in June!), and second, there's a new VIP ticket option! For $50, get in an hour early, try unusual and hard to find beers, and enjoy special food tastings.
The Beer Garden will feature over 200 beer samplings from homebrew and commercial breweries around the state. Breweries including Abita, Port Orleans, Bayou Teche, Urban South and Great Raft will be serving their top sellers along with their newest brews. Attendees can also enjoy delicious food, music, and a people’s choice competition among the homebrews.
General admission wristbands are $30 in advance and include all beer samplings. An early VIP entrance begins at 3:00 pm and will include special samplings from Acquistapace’s Wine and Cheese, Champagne Beverage, Crescent Crown Distributing, Chafunkta Brewery, Old Rail Brewing Company and Gnarly Barley Brewing, only available for VIP wristbands. VIP wristbands are $50 per person and only 100 will be sold. General admission and VIP wristbands can be purchased by visiting northshorehumane.org.
General Admission is $30 in advance and $35 at the door ($10/advance and $15/door for designated drivers). Doors open at 4pm (3pm VIP). Save $5 for each ticket and long lines by getting your ticket in advance from the Northshore Humane Society, or click here: LARRY BREW FEST 2018
No outside drinks or food are admitted, but feel free to bring the puppers and doggos: this event is dog-friendly! The Northshore Humane Society will also bring animals for adoption.
People's Choice Contest
Each paid ticket into the festival will be allowed to vote on their favorite home-brewed beer. Designated drivers will not receive a vote. The homebrewer who receives the most votes will be crowned the winner of the 7th Annual Larry Hartzog's Twisted Brew Festival. That lucky person will receive a 1st place medal, their picture on the Larrybeerfest.com and bragging rights until the next "Larry Fest" winner is crowned.
Homebrewers can enter their own homebrews in the festival contest by bringing at least five gallons or two cases of homebrew to the festival. You must register your homebrew before the festival to reserve a spot at the festival, and plan to pour drinks for guests yourself--no staff is available to pour for you. Register online at larrybrewfest.com. Entrants receive two event wristbands for each five gallons of homebrew.
It's good beer and fun while raising money for the Northshore Humane Society. Can't miss!
IMPORTANT: You must be 21 or over to attend this beer festival. You must present a valid government issued I.D. before receiving a wristband at the festival.
Founded in 1953, the Northshore Humane Society (formerly the St. Tammany Humane Society) is the largest not-for-profit, no-kill animal shelter on the Northshore. An independent, non-governmental rescue organization, NHS offers veterinary care, fostering, adoption and more to serve the homeless, neglected and abandoned animals of the community.
The Mystic Krewe of Brew is the oldest homebrew club on the Northshore. Started in 1995 by craft beer lovers, the krewe's mission is to promote the hobby and enjoyment of homebrewing beer.
