For the 41st year, the Louisiana Wildfowl Carvers & Collectors Guild presents the Louisiana Wildfowl Festival at Mandeville's Castine Center at Pelican Park, across the road from Fontainebleau State Park.
With 75 categories of carving, wildlife fine art and photography competitions for adults and students, carvers and artists from all over the United States enter to win over $45,000 in prizes. Last year's show 323 students from the St. Tammany school system entered the student art competition. Visitors can also enjoy great food, watch carving demonstrations, see wild bird demonstration and participate in an auction on Sunday.
Admission is $5 for adults and $1 for children. Competing students and artists are admitted free. The event takes place 9am to 6pm Saturday and 9am to 4pm Sunday.
