At “Men Who Cook,” twenty local "celebrity" cooks (leaders across Greater New Orleans) partner with local restaurants in St. Tammany and Washington Parishes to prepare tastings of their favorite dishes in a competitive cook-off raising funds for Hope House Children's Advocacy Center. Dishes are judged by three food critics for the title of Judge's Choice while guests purchase "tip tickets" to award to their favorite cook/restaurant team for the title of People's Choice/Most Money Raised for Hope House.
The 6th annual event takes place Sunday, November 11, 2018 from 4 PM to 7 PM on the top level of the St. Tammany Justice Center Parking Garage in Covington, where attendees can enjoy the beauty of the early evening from a lofty perch. To complement the tastings from the competitive cook-off, guests will enjoy complimentary wine, beer, daiquiris, soft drinks, and desserts from the bakery competition! Rock out to Four Unplugged, record the fun night at the onsite photo booth, and enter the raffle for several extraordinary prizes. Winning tickets will be pulled at the event.
Advance purchase tickets are $70 per individual or $125 per couple; admission at the door will be $80 per individual and $160 per couple. To participate, purchase event tickets or tip (vote) tickets and see the lineup of chefs and fundraisers, visit http://www.cachopehouse.org/whos-cooking-to-end-child-abuse or text MWC to 71777. Advance sales begin in September.
The CAC is an independent, non-profit organization dedicated to ending the cycle of child abuse in our community. Volunteers and staff work with children who have been abused to get them counseling and conduct interviews that are admissible in court so the young victims have a voice.
