Join your family and friends at Madisonville Town Hall on December 1st to ring in the holiday season and Christmas with "Santa's Workshop" and lighting of Madisonville's majestic live oaks. The fun family event includes a parade, caroling, kids' activities, photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus, and finally, Madisonville Mayor Jean Pelloat lighting the oaks with twinkling lights.
The evening begins at 4pm with a parade through town, starting at the Lake Pontchartrain Basin Maritime Museum, 133 Mabel Drive. The parade travels north along Main St. (Hwy 1077), to Jahncke, following west to Pine St., where it turns north. Crossing over Hwy. 22 to continue north, the parade turns east on Saint Tammany St., and then south on Water St. to culminate at Madisonville Town Hall, 403 Saint Francis Street.
At 5pm, Santa arrives by boat on the Tchefuncte River, heading to Town Hall for Santa's Workshop at 6pm. Lighting of the oaks immediately follows Santa's Workshop.
