The Pelican Energy Foundation announces its second annual “Night at the Movies" Gala to support local community. The 2017 "Night at the Movies " Gala will be held Saturday, September 23, 2017 at Vintage Court in Covington, LA.

The format will again include a silent auction, live auction and "Ariel's Grotto," from which attendees will purchase tickets to select a thingamabob, or twenty. However, you will want to refrain from picking the one gadget or gizmo that could make you feel like a "poor unfortunate."

Guests will be entertained by Louisiana Spice, a multi-piece, big-band inspired musical group known to bring the groove, while enjoying specialty foods, signature cocktails and mouth-watering desserts.

The theme for 2017, Disney's Heroes and Villains, will take you to a wondrous place of magic and fantasy. Dress as your favorite hero or villain, whether you come from "under the sea" or from a "galaxy far, far away." Pelican promises: your carriages will not turn into pumpkins when the clock strikes midnight!

The Pelican Gala will benefit the Tammany Trace Kid's Town in Mandeville, LA, whose mission is "to build a place where children can be children." Imagine a Western-style railroad town designed for interactive play that includes a Fire Station, Sheriff's Office, General Store and more! Pretend play is an integral part of a child's growth and development. This type of play fosters problem solving, brain development and teaches children how to interact with others.
