City of Mandeville and Old Mandeville Business Association (OMBA) present three festive events to toast the close of the year: Sips of the Season, Christmas Past Festival and Winter on the Water, on Friday, December 9 and Saturday, December 10, 2016.
SIPS OF THE SEASON: 5-8pm FRIDAY, DEC 9
Start the weekend off with OMBA enjoying holiday spirits at your favorite Old Mandeville businesses. With more than a dozen stops in all, including non-alcoholic holiday beverages at each stop for the kiddies, this event is not to be missed. There is no designated order to the visits, and participating strollers are invited to enjoy them in any order, at leisure.Strollers receive an official mug that is filled at each stop, along with a card listing businesses dispensing the holiday-themed beverages. The mug can be taken home as a souvenir. Participants include restaurants, bars and shops, all within walking distance of the Mandeville lakefront.Strollers are invited to enjoy Christmas caroling by the Jane Austen Foundation of Louisiana, taking place at Old Rail Brewing Company, 639 Girod St.
A CHRISTMAS PAST: 9AM - 3PM SATURDAY, DEC 10
A Christmas Past will take place along Girod Street in Mandeville. The festival offers an old-time holiday theme, arts and crafts, food and beverage booths, bands, and strolling caroling groups.
WINTER ON THE WATER: 4-6 PM SATURDAY, DEC 10
LAKESHORE DRIVE FROM HARBOR TO GAZEBO - Rounding out the festive weekend, on Saturday evening, the Annual Winter on the Water (WOW) at the Mandeville Lakefront begins with Santa's parade. The walking parade begins at 4:00pm on Lakeshore drive at the harbor and concludes at the Gazebo, where Mayor Don Villere welcomes performers on the quaint stage, and then conducts the lighting of the beautiful lakefront live oaks. The event concludes with the annual boat parade. Remember to bring cameras for pictures with Santa!
