Presented by the Boys and Girls Club of Southeast Louisiana, the 5th annual free holiday festival, Slidell's Bayou Christmas, will be held December 19-22, 2018 in Slidell's Heritage Park.
Featuring lighted displays--over 80,000 lights--animated to holiday music and FREE pictures for all children nightly in Santa's Village, this is a holiday festival for the whole family.
An opening ceremony will be held at 6:00 PM on Wednesday, Dec.19, and continues nightly through Sunday, Dec. 23, opening at 6:00 PM each night. The festive event features Crescent City Amusements rides, entertainment, and pictures with Santa. Local restaurants and caterers will have food for purchase.
On Saturday, December 22, fest-goers will enjoy a screening of a family-friendly holiday movie sponsored by the City of Slidell Dept. of Cultural and Public Affairs. Other community activities may be announced. Check the Bayou Christmas Facebook Page for nightly schedules. All activities are free.
While entertainment and rides close on Sunday, displays will remain lighted for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, Dec. 24 and 25.
Fest-goers can park in a lot on Pennsylvania St. & Bayou Lane (just off Front Street) and ride to Heritage Park by shuttle (runs nightly).
Slidell's Bayou Christmas is our yearly fundraiser for the Slidell Boys & Girls Club of Slidell. For over 40 years, the nonprofit has provided youth in Slidell a safe place, caring adult mentors, fun, friendship, and high-impact youth development programs on a daily basis during critical non-school hours. Priority programs emphasize academic success, good character and citizenship, and healthy lifestyles. Come join the fun while raising money and awareness for Slidell's Boys & Girls Club of Southeast Louisiana.
