Presented by the Boys and Girls Club of Southeast Louisiana, Slidell's third annual Bayou Christmas will be held December 15-25 in Slidell's Heritage Park. Featuring lighted displays--over 80,000 lights--animated to holiday music and FREE pictures for all children nightly in Santa's Village, this is a holiday festival for the whole family.
Includes live entertainment each night by local dance groups, schools, choirs, bands, choruses and more. Six local restaurants and caterers will serve popular foods like shrimp & grits, chicken strips & fries, pizza, Philly cheesesteaks, and more. An Arts & Crafts Walk features local artisans, so Christmas gift shoppers can support buy local/support local shopping.
On Saturday, December 17, the City of Slidell Cultural Arts presents "Slidell Movie Nights" featuring Home Alone.
On Friday, Dec. 23, Bayou Christmas will feature "The Princesses" from the movie Frozen, performing and taking free pictures in Santa's Village.
Fest-goers can park in a lot on Pennsylvania St. & Bayou Lane (just off Front Street) and ride to Heritage Park by shuttle (runs nightly).
For over 40 years, Boys & Girls Clubs have provided youth in Slidell a safe place, caring adult mentors, fun, friendship, and high-impact youth development programs on a daily basis during critical non-school hours. Priority programs emphasize academic success, good character and citizenship, and healthy lifestyles.
