It's the Shop Local Artists Week event that will celebrate all facets of the arts and artists in St. Tammany Parish! On Dec. 3, noon to 5 pm, enjoy a festival that includes visual arts, performing arts, literary arts, film, arts education, healing arts, culinary arts and more. It's a great opportunity to shop for everyone on your gift list and to support local cultural treasures.
The event takes place in downtown Covington on the 300 - 400 blocks of Columbia Street, plus a special Holiday Reflections Children's Tea presented by The English Tea Room in the new Art Alley (between H.J. Smith's General Store and St. Tammany Art Association).
Featuring music by Redline and Christian Serpas & Ghost Town Duo.
Stop by the Slidell Ladies for Liberty and Bayou Wood Turners/Freedom Pens booths to share love with our troops serving overseas.
Enjoy Louisiana Seafood cooking demos and fare by Old School Eats Foodtruck and Meribo's Chef Gavin Jobe, sponsored by the Louisiana Seafood Promotions Board.
This event is a showcase of more than 60 artists, arts organizations and cultural economy stakeholders--it's a festival of arts produced by artists. No additional vending opportunities will be offered. The festival is free and open to the public.
This event is supported by a grant from the Louisiana Division of the Arts, Office of Cultural Development, Department of Culture, Recreation and Tourism, in cooperation with the Louisiana State Arts Council, and as administered by the St. Tammany Commission on Cultural Affairs, St. Tammany Parish Government.
