The Madisonville Community Benefit Organization once again brings back its Old-Fashioned 4th of July to celebrate Independence Day on Sunday, July 3, 2016 on the banks of the Tchefuncte River in Madisonville, Louisiana.

The celebration starts off at 2:00 pm with a parade through town starting at the Maritime Museum and ending at the Riverfront in front of Town Hall. The parade ends with a tribute to veterans on the lawn of Madisonville Town Hall; veterans are encouraged to contact organizers to inquire about riding in the parade.

The event is free to the public

Activities for the kids include games like tug-of-war and an egg toss, as well as the Miss Madisonville Beauty Pageant for girls ages 4-10. For the adults, a Winner-Take-All horseshoe tournament – register on website early in the day as slots fill quickly.

Enjoy DJ music, hot-dogs, corn-on-the-cob and a variety of down home delights including a watermelon eating contest and a decorated bike contest. Fireworks begin just after dark.
