Popular canoeing, tubing and kayaking trips down the Bogue Chitto River. Formerly Wayne's World Tubing, Louisiana River Adventures now offers more activities on and around the river, including primitive camping (tent and RV; well water only).
Open 7 days a week during the season, April 1-September 1, and open Friday to Sunday in winter, by appointment, for kayaking and canoeing only (no tubing). Last floats depart at 2pm. Cash preferred, but major credit cards accepted for a fee. Rates listed on website; prices include shuttle and life vests.
The Bogue Chitto is a long and curvy waterway with a steady current. It is a designated scenic river way, therefore trees are not trimmed, sunken logs are not removed. Trips are 2 or 4 hours; however, stopping at sandbars and beaches along the way is encouraged.
Coolers, picnics, fishing gear, etc. are welcome. Supplies are available on site, including snacks, ice, drinks, waterproof cameras, sunblock, hats, sunglasses, water shoes and more. The river bottom is filled with debris, so although shoes are not required, they are recommended. Learn what to bring on your trip at http://www.louisianariveradventures.com/faqs/.
