Saint Joseph Abbey is a Benedictine monastery founded in 1889. Both the church and Monks' Refectory are listed on the National Register of Historic Places, and both are popular destinations for the tour groups that visit the Saint Joseph Abbey campus each year.

Be sure to look for the stunning murals in the Abbey Church and Monks’ Refectory painted by Dom Gregory de Wit.

Due to the monks' daily prayer schedule, and to prevent calendar conflicts, all tours must be scheduled in advance. For information on booking a tour, visit https://www.saintjosephabbey.com/guests.

Be sure to visit the Abbey gift shop, which carries a variety of products made by the monks and volunteers of the Abbey, as well as Catholic devotional objects, jewelry, books, liturgical music, religious art and objects from around the world, and sacramental gifts for baptisms, first communions and confirmations.

Saint Joseph Abbey also offers monthly art classes, special workshops, and private lessons on the peaceful grounds of the Abbey. Instruction is provided by internationally renowned teachers in painting, drawing, printmaking and manuscript illumination. View the current schedule at https://www.saintjosephabbey.com/artclasses.
