Looking for fun things to do with mom this Mother’s Day? Families have some great options in St. Tammany Parish, including the Old Mandeville Historic Association’s Mother’s Day Home Tour, DIY home décor projects at Hammer & Stain Covington, group painting parties at Painting with a Twist Mandeville, and lots of great choices for dining out, especially at those restaurants offering special brunch menus for the holiday.
OLD MANDEVILLE HOME TOUR
History buffs, architecture lovers and interior design aficionados eagerly anticipate the Old Mandeville Historic Association’s Mother’s Day Home Tour each year, so the pause on group tours meant that the beloved event would need to become a virtual one. This year, OMHA’s event is comprised of 20-30 minute videos touring four 19th and early 20th Century private homes, plus OMHA’s home, the Jean Baptiste Lang House Museum. Each video features interviews with the homeowners sharing their hobbies, Katrina stories, renovation highlights, gardens, kitchens and more. Ticket buyers have unlimited online access to the tours, May 9-31. For a sneak preview, visit https://vimeo.com/538849264.
