Abita Springs' annual En Plein Air exhibition, featuring recent paintings of Louisiana landscapes by local artists made on location ("in the open air") during the weeks leading up to the event, will be on display in the Abita Springs Trailhead Museum November 12-14, 2021. Admission is free.
An opening reception will be held in the museum* from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, November 12. Free refreshments will be served. The artwork will continue to be displayed 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday; however, collectors are encouraged to attend the opening, as this is when most paintings are sold.
Participating artists include: JoAnn Adams, Ben Bensen III, David Blackwell, Muriel Dauterive, Claude Ellender, Carol Hallock, Peggy Hesse, Diego Larguia, Mary Monk, Louis Morales, Judy Newman, Auseklis Ozols, John Preble, Julia Hughes Rubin, Al Rufty, Phil Sandusky, Peg Usner and Hal Wilke.
*If the mask mandate is still in place, they will be required inside but the reception will be outside on the Abita Beer Stage, weather permitting.
