Join Abita Opry, Inc. for its next concert on Friday, June 19, 2020.
The evening begins with a performance by the 'Porch Players' at 5 p.m. on the front porch (free). Doors open at 5:45 p.m. for the featured performing artists, with performance from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Steve Anderson Group
The Opry's longest running house band. It has been quite a few years that Steve has been entertaining our audiences with those great old-time country songs. Steve is a local guy who taught himself how to play and is gifted with a rich voice. He remains an audience favorite as is his backup and frequent soloist, Jan Biggs.
The Crispin Schroeder Band
Crispin Schroeder is an Abita guy. He has been playing various genres of music for a long time. His impressive performance with his group at the Abita Brew Pub following the Abita Fall fest. Was rich and impressive and his young son performing with his group made them a must for our stage. He performs a wide variety with emphasis on the Blues.
Driskill Mountain Boys
Adolphus Warren and this group has been in existence performing straight out traditional, toe tapping and hand clapping bluegrass for a very long time. They have appeared on the Opry stage before and always please the audience with their personality and great musicianship. The Driskill Mountain Boys go way back with the Opry having performed twice previously at the Abita Springs Opry and our predecessor, the Piney Woods Opry.
Errol Quave along with his wife, Lou, the group’s percussionist, is a lifelong St Tammany Parish resident who has been performing traditional New Orleans Jazz for many years. We have been wanting to have his group on our stage for a very long time. They have performed on the porch before the show several times. He usually performs with a trio, but he has “beefed up” his band with additional and very talented musicians including a surprise guest vocalist. We are looking forward to hear Vintage Jazz on our stage.
