Abita Springs Busker Festival

Abita Springs invites you to the 12th Abita Springs Busker Festival, Sunday, April 2, 2023. The free festival is a full day of free music starting at 11 a.m. in beautiful Abita Springs Trailhead & Park, 22044 Level St, Abita Springs, LA. Just bring your lawn chair, sun screen and dancing shoes. Please don’t bring food, drinks or dogs. Do bring your appetite: the Abita Springs Art & Farmers Market will host food and drink vendors and restaurants and a grocery are just a short walk away.

Hosted by the Abita Springs Trailhead Museum, the festival is sponsored by the Abita Springs Opry and the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival & Foundation, Inc. Watch a video about the festival on YouTube: Abita Springs Busker Festival: From Street to Stage.

The music lineup will be announced as the event nears.

Parking in Abita is free but limited; parking is permitted at Abita Middle School and throughout neighborhoods. Or, park outside town and bike to the festival on the Tammany Trace!

This free festival was established to preserve and present Louisiana roots music and has grown in popularity with each passing year. Proceeds and donations from the Abita Springs Busker Festival go to support the Abita Springs Trailhead Museum, which works in concert with the Town of Abita Springs to produce numerous free events for the community and visitors. For those who may not be familiar with the term, a "busker” is a street performer who performs for tips. A community of these musicians flourished in New Orleans following Katrina, and began performing at the Abita Opry (held six times per year at Abita Springs Town Hall). A big hit with audiences, producers decided to devote an entire day-long festival to this unique style of musical performance.
