Handmade, ceramic birdhouses make the perfect housewarming gift, add a special touch to your yard, or act as an adorable addition to your home! In this class, students will learn the basics of slab building with clay to build a 3-D birdhouse.
In the first two classes, students will be working with clay to construct the house and add on details. Students will work with stamps and tools to add texture and decoration to their pieces. In the third class, students will add attachments or finishing touches with underglaze. The instructor will give students a time and date to pick up their fired pieces.
Classes take place June 5, 12 and 19, 5-7 p.m. All ages are welcome; those under the age of 13 require adult supervision. Admission is $200 for members of the St. Tammany Art Association, $250 for non-members. All supplies are provided.
