Are you ready for the most colorful festival on the Northshore? Chalk Fest is back at the Children's Museum of St. Tammany! Come out to the Tammany Trace Trailhead in Mandeville, 21404 Koop Dr., Saturday, April 24, 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM for creative fun. (Rain date: May 1.)
Register as an individual artist or a team of artists. UP TO $1,300 IN CASH PRIZES will be awarded in seven different categories. Arts and Craft Vendors are encouraged to participate in the vendor area.
This festival is free to the public and will consist of live art by featured artist Mandie Manzano and The Art of Mandie Manzano, food available for purchase by Creole Tomateaux, entertainment and music by Omega Sound & Entertainment and Be Hooper Be Happy, and a chalk art contest.
Individual artists* or teams of artists are encouraged to register and purchase up to four 4'x4' squares for $25.00 per square. Artist's chalk, water, and paintbrush are included in your registration. The artist's start time begins at 8:00 AM with judging beginning at 12:00 Noon.
*If you are registering your child as an individual artist, please remember that they will have to complete their artwork and prep of materials by themselves. If you feel as if you may help your child in any capacity during the festival, please register as a team.
Prizes will be awarded to Top Elementary, Top Middle and Top High School Artists ($100 each), Top Team ($200), Best in Show ($500), and two special categories: St. Tammany Proud ($200), where artists are encouraged to produce art specific to St. Tammany culture; and, The Spirit of the Child ($200), an expression of childhood and whimsy.
All registrations are due by Friday, April 16, 2021, at 3:00 pm.
Registration is $25 per 4'x4' square (four feet square) and is limited to four (4) squares.
All participants must comply with the Chalk Fest Guidelines as described in the registration forms. Art squares are limited and will be registered and placed in the order in which they are received.
If a participant fails to check-in at the official registration booth by 9:00 AM on Saturday, April 24, 2021, their space will be forfeited and made available to another participant.
