The City of Mandeville and the Old Mandeville Business Association (OMBA) present the 15th annual Christmas Past Festival on Saturday, December 8, 2018, all along Girod Street in Mandeville.

The event will feature more than 100 artists and craftsmen from across the Greater New Orleans area. This year’s festival theme “Christmas Past Classics” will give nod to classic holiday films including The Grinch, Santa Clause, A Christmas Carol, Elf and Polar Express. Admission to the event is free, and attendees are encouraged to get in the holiday spirit – costumes and holiday attire add to the festive atmosphere!

New elements at this year’s event include a Children’s Village with arts and crafts provided by Painting With A Twist and Creative Arts of St Tammany, and a food court featuring a variety of local vendors like Isabella’s Pizzeria, Rob’s Rockin' Dogs, Creole Tomateaux and Paella NOLA.

Attendees will enjoy live musical performances from Box Office Giants from 11AM-2PM outside the Rusty Pelican (500 Girod St.), and The Messy Cookers Jazz Trio from 10AM-3PM in the food court. Kids will love the train rides and the whole family, the horse and carriage rides. Roaming the streets will be holiday characters like the Grinch, Cindy Lou Who, Frosty the Snowman, as well as Christmas carolers. Santa Claus will also make an appearance for photos with the kids from 10AM-3PM near Das Schulerhaus Gift Gallery and Christmas Boutique (611 Girod St.).

After the festival, attendees are encouraged to walk to the Lakefront for the City of Mandeville’s Winter on the Water, which takes place from 4-6PM along Lakeshore Drive. The fun begins with Santa's walking parade at 4PM at the Pontchartrain Yacht Club Harbor and continues down to the Lakefront Gazebo, where there will be live performances and the lighting of the oaks ceremony. The event concludes with the annual boat parade on Lake Pontchartrain.

Admission to all events is free and open to the public. Parking is free. For more information, visit For up-to-the minute information, follow the event on Facebook.
