Built in 1895, the small stage of the Dew Drop, in the middle of the 400 block of Lamarque Street in Mandeville, once played host to Kid Ory, Bunk Johnson, Buddy Petit, Louis Armstrong and many early other Jazz men.
Now, the Friends of the Dew Drop presents spring and fall concert series with amazing regional musicians (check out our Events calendar for concert dates from March to May and September to December). Get there early to get a seat inside on the wooden pews, or bring a blanket or lawn chair and spread outside on the grounds to hear the music waft through the windows. Bring cash; tickets for the show are $10 and you'll want to purchase drinks and home-cooked meals from the First Free Mission Baptist Church next door.
