Fragniappe is a one of a kind annual event for the Gulf Coast providing a venue for marine and reef hobbyists to meet fellow enthusiasts and renowned vendors. This year's event is Saturday, March 9, 2019 from 11am to 5pm.
Hosted in Slidell at the Northshore Harbor Center, just 40 minutes from New Orleans' French Quarter, Fragniappe aims to provide both exhibitors and attendees with an enjoyable experience before, during, and after the event, hosting guest speakers and workshops and providing concessions, raffles and other entertainment throughout the day. With many booths dedicated to exhibitors, the event has everything from premium livestock to quality dry goods and equipment available for purchase. Admission is free.
One of the primary goals of Fragniappe, along with Bayou Reefkeeping, is to educate the public with the latest information in the marine and reef hobby so that hobbyists can better care for their tanks and livestock. Many booth exhibitors have extensive coral propagation facilities and reach out to local communities to educate and assist with the hobby.
