The Gulf States Quilting Association (GSQA) presents its biennial, judged quilt show with prize ribbons for winning quilts, at The Harbor Center in Slidell. The event begins with four days of quilt judging followed by the public showing from Friday, November 6 through Saturday, November 7.
Over 400 judged quilts will be displayed with ribbons awarded to the winning quilts. Peruse the merchants mall featuring vendors from all over the US offering products and services including, but not limited to: scissors and scissor sharpening, sewing thread, fabrics and woven baskets; a craft boutique, quilt appraisals, a Bed Turning presentation, a class on wool and more. Guests can win door prizes and enjoy food vendors and the photo booth.
Author Christy Andrews, who has written her first children's book "One Noisy Street Car," will be signing books at the show. She will also be selling patterns of quilts illustrated in the book.
The Gulf States Quilting Association organized in 1984 to create, stimulate and promote an interest in quilts and quilt making. It presents a biennial show featuring the works of association members.
