ABOUT THE HOSPICE HOUSE
Begun as a part of Slidell Memorial Hospital's Hospice Foundation, also known as the Hospice Foundation of the South, The Hospice House was formed to help indigent patients pay for hospice care, sitters, funeral assistance, medications, utility bills and food, all while raising funds to build Hospice House, a three-bedroom facility that allows terminally ill patients a place to live out their final days in home setting with family and caregivers provided by Home Instead Senior Care.
The nonprofit works with hospice agencies to identify patients in the community who are in need, including AmeraCare Family Hospice, Passages Hospice, Heart of Hospice, Hospice, St. Tammany Parish Hospital, Louisiana Hospice and Palliative Care, All Saints Hospice of Louisiana, Hospice Compassus and St. Joseph Hospice.
