One Covington--Future Leaders of Louisiana presents the inaugural Juneteenth Fashion Show and Essay Contest on Sunday, June 12, 2022. The event will be held 4-7 p.m. in Fuhrmann Auditorium at the Greater Covington Center, 317 N. Jefferson Ave.

The fashion show's theme is "One Love" and is open to boys and girls ages 10-18. Scholarships will be given to a boy and girl who has been accepted to college or trade school and wins an essay contest. Three fashion categories will be judged: Formal/Sunday Best, Business Casual, and Juneteenth Inspired.

Be sure to save the date to celebrate Juneteenth on Saturday, June 18, starting with a Freedom Parade through downtown Covington at 9 a.m.(lineup starts at 7:45 a.m.). Following the parade, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., is a program and resource fair at Rev. Peter Atkins Park, 701 N. Tyler St. Sponsorships are available.
