The Krewe of Bilge will present its 2019 Mardi Gras parade on Saturday, February 16. The popular boat parade's theme is "What's on TV?"
The parade starts at 11:00 am. Founded in 1978 by a few local residents who costumed and decorated their boats to parade along the canals of the Eden Isles subdivision, the krewe now boasts over 400 members.

From the Marina Café, the parade passes through the marina basin past Robin's and then turns north and enters what is known as the "Firehouse Canal."
Then boats travel north along the Eden Isles side of the canal to the East Eden Isles Blvd. bridge where it changes course. The parade then goes south retracing its route down the canal back toward Hwy 11 (Pontchartrain Blvd.) and to the West Eden Isles Blvd. bridge.*Good spots for the public to see the parade and catch throws are The Dock of Slidell off Lakeview Drive, along Highway 11 on the east side of the parade route at the Firehouse on Marina Drive.
