The all-women’s night parade is a procession of floats built by Mardi Gras Decorators, hand-made elaborately decorated purses (Selene’s signature throw), lighted star wands and a variety of specialty beads. Selene closes the Carnival parade season in Slidell.

The theme will be “A Few of Our Favorite Things” with 21 floats following the traditional Slidell parade route and depicts such favorite things as vacations, sports, etc. The Queen of Selene XXI is Cindy Levy Newell Harness and King of Selene XXI is Lucas Bills.

Dedicated to community outreach year-round, the Krewe of Selene supports Ladies for Liberty by sending items to troops overseas, a food drive to support Second Harvest Food Bank, and Project Christmas, which helps local families in need.
