At “Men Who Cook,” twenty local "celebrity" cooks (leaders across Greater New Orleans) partner with local restaurants in St. Tammany and Washington Parishes to prepare tastings of their favorite dishes in a competitive cook-off raising funds for Hope House Children's Advocacy Center.
The 7th annual event takes place Sunday, November 3, 2019, 4:00 to 7:00 PM, on the top level of the St. Tammany Justice Center Parking Garage in Covington, located between the Justice Center at 701 N. Columbia St. and 601 N. Jefferson Avenue.
To complement the tastings from the competitive cook-off, guests will enjoy complimentary wine, beer, cocktails and desserts, live music, onsite photo booth and a raffle for some extraordinary prizes. Winning tickets will be pulled at the event.
Dishes are judged by three food critics for the title of Judge's Choice while guests purchase "tip tickets" to award to their favorite cook/restaurant team for the title of People's Choice/Most Money Raised for Hope House.
Advance tickets are $75 individual or $125 per couple and can be purchased at www.cachopehouse.org. Admission at the door is $80/single and $150/couple. All food, beer and wine are included in the ticket price. Pre-event "tipping" is allowed and will aggregate toward the teams' money raised for Hope House. In addition, the In Jesus' Name Foundation will provide a matching grant of $80K, positioning Men Who Cook to raise more money for the organization than ever before. That means donors' contributions could count for double this year!
About Children’s Advocacy Center - Hope House:
The Children’s Advocacy Center—Hope House is an independent nonprofit organization dedicated to ending the cycle of child abuse in our communities. Hope House provides services to children and families in both St. Tammany and Washington Parishes. It is the only local agency that provides forensic interviews for children when allegations of abuse arise. It is not affiliated with any other agency, although it works collaboratively with law enforcement, the D.A.’s office, and the Dept. of Child and Family Services to facilitate communication so that children are protected and justice is served.
