Middendorf’s introduces their new and exciting "Partake" event series at Middendorf’s Slidell featuring delectable cuisine paired with fine wine and spirits.
For the debut event, they welcome Jason Johnson from The Duckhorn Portfolio, a premier producer of California wines. He will showcase Decoy Limited, a tier of limited-production wines made from special lots sourced from California’s most prestigious wine regions. The limited lineup is touted as the pinnacle of Decoy wine-making.
Throughout the evening, you will have the opportunity to sip and savor these wines while discovering all the fine details that make each one truly special. It’s an experience, an adventure for everyone from the self-proclaimed lover of wine to the true connoisseur.
Each wine has been carefully selected to compliment a four course gourmet meal prepared by European Master Chef Horst Pfeifer, current owner of Middendorf’s Seafood Restaurant and former owner of Bella Luna, a fine dining restaurant in the French Quarter. Chef Pfeifer is eager to return to his gourmet roots.
1st Course - Frisée Lettuce, Hand Picked Crab Meat, Oven Roasted Tomatoes, Champagne Vinaigrette, Chervil, Crispy Speck, paired with 2021 Decoy California Sauvignon Blanc
2nd Course - Caramelized Red Snapper, Butter Poached Asparagus, Blood Orange and Basil Gastrique, paired with 2020 Decoy Limited Sonoma Coast Chardonnay
3rd Course - Roasted Herb-Crusted Lamb, Rosemary Au Jus, Creamy Parsnip Mash, Creole Seasoned Sweet Potato and Beet Chips, paired with 2019 Decoy Limited Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir
4th Course - Flourless Chocolate Espresso Truffle Cake with Dark Chocolate Ganache and Raspberry Coulis, paired with 2019 Decoy Limited Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bella Luna Focaccia Bread and Whipped Butter will be available throughout the meal.
The evening begins at 6:30pm in the “Bella Luna” private dining room. The first wine will be served at this time — Decoy California Brut Cuvée Sparking Wine. Feel free to walk around and mingle. Guests will be seated at 7:00 p.m.
Seating is banquet style and attire is business casual. The price for this Wine Tasting Dinner is $100 per person (inclusive of tax and gratuity). Reservations are required.
