Want to have a girls night, a date night, or a night of family fun? Join STAA for a night of wine and pottery!
Students will learn the basics of either pottery wheel or hand-building with clay instructor Janie Dick, who will teach students how to work with clay to create your very own mug. Students will work with stamps and tools to add texture to their pieces, add attachments, and use underglazes to add color. Pieces are then fired, and students will receive an email when they are ready to be picked up.
All ages are welcome. Beginner hand-builders welcome, but prior experience on the wheel is REQUIRED to participate in the pottery wheel technique. Classes are held Fridays in April at the Covington Masonic lodge, 6-8:30 p.m. each session.
Admission is $80 for classes in either technique and all supplies are included. Students must bring their own wine. Register at https://www.sttammany.art/mugs-and-merlot-april. Please choose your preferred date and technique when you sign up.
