Come to the Mandeville Trailhead on Saturday, September 24, 2022, for Northshore Oktoberfest by A Rhea of Hope, a traditional, German, family-friendly Oktoberfest that is also a fundraiser and awareness event for cholangiocarcinoma (bile duct cancer). The festival is 5-10 p.m. Admission is $5 for adults, free for children under 12.

Guests will enjoy German food and biergarten, live polka music by two German bands, family fun, including "Bile Duck" games and a "Bile Duck Depot" store with a variety of fun ducks for sale. There will be interactive songs and dances for all, along with German games and activities, contests, and raffles.

The first Oktoberfest in 2019 welcomed over 1,200 people and raised $10,000 for the Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation. Funds also supported local residents suffering with this form cancer, covering travel expenses and other ancillary expenses of treatment not covered by insurance.

A Rhea of Hope, a 501(c)3 charity founded by Heidi Rhea, a rare survivor of the disease, aims to raise awareness of local resources available to those with the disease, and funds for research into fighting it. For more information, call 985-502-5408.
