Get out your lederhosen, spruce up your dirndls and prepare to eat and drink German style — It’s time for Oktoberfest at Middendorf’s!

This year, Oktoberfest will be every Wednesday and Thursday, Oktober 6, 2021 through November 11, 2021, at Middendorf’s Slidell and Middendorf’s Manchac. This will be their 14th year of Oktoberfest featuring authentic German appetizers, entrees, desserts and beer.

The popular Middendorf’s restaurant, which has been famous for its thin-fried catfish since 1934, is featuring Oktoberfest again this year, a tradition that began in 2008 at the original Manchac location, after owners Horst and Karen Pfiefer bought the landmark restaurant. In 2019, the dynamic couple opened their new Slidell location, which loyal fans called “Dorfers” love to frequent. The restaurant is located at 1951 Oak Harbor Blvd., Slidell and is open Wednesday-Sunday, 10:30 a.m.-9 p.m.

Authentic German meals are prepared by Horst himself (he grew up in Germany). A joyous tone is set by lively music played on the accordion by Horst’s adored brother, Heinz Pfeifer, who flies to Louisiana from Germany each year just for this Oktoberfest celebration.

Catch all the authentic German food, music and fun during Oktoberfest at Middendorf’s. It’s every Wednesday and Thursday at Middendorf’s Manchac and Middendorf’s Slidell, October 6, 2021 through November 11, 2021.

A different menu will be available each week (scroll down to see!). Patrons can join in the fun by dressing up in German attire – lederhosen and dirndls – just like Heinz and the front of house staff. For all the details, log onto www.middendorfsrestaurant.com.

A Few More Things…
Ever wonder why German Chocolate Cake is not on the Oktoberfest menu? The reason is that German Chocolate Cake is not actually a German dessert (It’s Texan!). However, it’s still very delicious, and that’s why we now have it on our regular menu, available every day. Add it to your Oktoberfest meal!

*Oktoberfest meals are served all day (lunch and dinner), 10:30 am-9:00 pm, while supplies last.
* Of course, there is a great selection of German Beer to go with your meal, from Spaten (light) to Warsteiner Dunkel (dark).
* The regular menu is also available during Oktoberfest.
* Feel free to join the fun by dressing up in your favorite lederhosen & dirndls.
