Pearl Riverkeeper invites you to participate in the Pearl River Clean Sweep on Sept. 18, 2021 at Honey Island Fish House, 6583 Pump Slough Rd, Pearl River.
The "Clean Sweep" begins at 9:00 am. Bring your own kayak/canoe, or reserve one with Honey Island Kayak Tours online at HoneyIslandKayakTours.com. Volunteers can begin signing in at 9:00 am; the group will hit the water by 10:00 am. This event is open to all ages and will be held rain or shine. Participants should bring a reusable water bottle (no single-use plastic), gloves and sturdy shoes. Site leaders will distribute cleanup bags. Volunteers are asked to share cleanup photos on social media using #PearlRiverCleanSweep or by tagging Pearl Riverkeeper.
The Pearl River Clean Sweep celebrates drinkable, swimmable, fishable water, and is held in conjunction with Pearl Riverkeeper, which is coordinating clean sweeps at over 30 locations along the Pearl River--15 counties, two parishes, two states and over 490 miles of river.
