The Northlake Nature Center in Mandeville, Louisiana presents its annual Great Louisiana BirdFest, April 3-6, 2020, but the birding fun begins in March! On Sunday, March 29, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., nature photographers and birders are invited to the "Pre-Great Louisiana BirdFest” Photography Excursion with Captain Billy and the Cajun Man’s Swamp Tours and Adventures.
Take your camera equipment and board Captain Billy’s boat to explore the swamps of Gibson, LA and visit 10-12 eagle nests with mom, dad and their offspring! You're likely to get the best eagle pictures as the parents teach their young ones how to fly, and find dinner!
Limited photographers can register for this very special opportunity. Registration is required. For information and to register, visit www.northlakenature.org/birdfest.
The Great Louisiana BirdFest is an annual event of Mandeville's Northlake Nature Center when many species of birds are migrating north through Louisiana from Mexico and South America. Trips during the four-day festival will also visit varied habitat including swamps, wetlands, pine savanna, and hardwoods of southeast Louisiana.
The Northlake Nature Center (NNC) is a non-profit organization that provides nature related educational programs for school groups, Scouts, and the general public. Visit the website for information, descriptions of birding sites, and to register for BirdFest events.
