The Slidell Photo Club focuses on learning from one another on how to use cameras, tips on how to make better images, and on good fellowship. The club is a member of the Gulf States Camera Club Council.
Members vary in both age and skill level, and compete in Pictorial, Nature, and Photojournalism categories in digital and non-digital images, as well as prints in all three categories.
To allow for members of different skill levels the club divides members into three classes: Master, for highly skilled members; Journeyman, for those comfortable with photography; and Apprentice, for newcomers.
