The St. Tammany Art Association presents the monthly St. Tammany Artist Roundtable (STAR) meetings, held every second Saturday, 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Art House in Downtown Covington.
Admission is free and open to the public. STAA membership is encouraged but not required.
STAR was created to unite, stimulate and support the artist community in St. Tammany Parish by giving artists in all walks of their careers the opportunity to commune with peers over conversations about art, artists, creative tips, techniques and challenges.
The St. Tammany Art Association is a 501(c)3 nonprofit founded in 1958 by a small group of civic-minded individuals dedicated to bringing art to western St. Tammany Parish. They envisioned an organization that would support and grow local arts in the community. STAA has grown into an organization with over 300 members and supporters. Serving as a catalyst for the arts, the organization’s Art House building in downtown Covington serves the needs of emerging and established artists. STAA provides arts education to artists of all ages and experience levels through a wide variety of media, exhibition opportunities to artist members and visiting artists, and direct community engagement arts market to the community.
The Art House is open 5 days a week, Tuesday-Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. All exhibitions are free and open to the public unless otherwise indicated. For more information, call (985) 892-8650 or visit www.StTammany.art.
