The St. Tammany Crab Festival is two days of live Zydeco, Blues, Country and Rock music on two stages. Indulge in local cuisine like boiled crabs, various crab dishes and other indigenous foods from Southeast Louisiana.
The festival, held Saturday and Sunday, September 21-22, 2019 in Slidell's Heritage Park, is fun for the whole family. Single-day festival admission is $20 for adults, and children under 12 admitted free. Weekend passes may be available; see festival website for information.
Personal chairs and umbrellas are welcome, but leave the coolers at picnics at home: no outside food or drink will be permitted. Parking is free, but space is limited. Shuttle service may be available; follow the event on Facebook for up-to-date information on all activities. The music line-up will be announced as the event nears.
In addition to great music and food, fest-goers will enjoy the 5th Annual Mr. Crab’s Car Show, featuring classic cars, trucks, rat rods, motorcycles, BMX stunt bikes and other unique vehicles.
Newly added this year are carnival rides, horse-and-buggy rides, and for the 4th year, “Captain Dave” of Cat’s Meow Fishing Charters will take passengers aboard his boat for a scenic tour of Bayou Bonfouca. Ride tickets $10, Children 5 and under free. One child per adult.
The St. Tammany Crab Festival Group offers a mainstream forum for local business owners and non-profit organizations to promote and sell their products and services. The foundation's core values include the encouragement of cultural and civic activities that ultimately strengthen relationships within St. Tammany Parish and adjoining communities.
