The Harbor Center's Lobby Lounge invites you to its final "Up Close and Musical" concert of 2019, an encore performance by Ellisa Sun, on Wednesday, November 13, 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.
Folk artist Ellisa Sun performed last January to The Lobby Lounge's largest audience ever. This concert will be the last of her 2019 national tour.
Raised in the City of Angels, Ellisa migrated north and found a home in San Francisco’s creative scene, where she wrangled a seven-piece band to play her music. Her sound is heartfelt, honest, and textured, combining elements of R&B, Bossa Nova and Soul. Comparisons to artists such as Amy Winehouse, Adele, and Norah Jones come naturally.
Ellisa released her self-produced debut album Moon & Sun in 2017. In a short time, Ellisa has garnered much critical acclaim. SF Weekly called her song Unravel “as near to perfect as any song could be” and “damn gorgeous.”
Since releasing her album, Ellisa has played up and down the West Coast, from the Hotel Cafe in Los Angeles to the Great American Music Hall in San Francisco, to basement clubs in Portland, and in the past year, across the US on a national tour. Ellisa and her guitar have also earned frequent flyer miles, performing overseas in Japan and throughout South America.
The Lobby Lounge is an intimate listening room inside The Harbor Center in Slidell. The 124-seat venue hosts nationally touring acts throughout the year, focusing on artists from the worlds of indie rock, folk, country, jazz, blues and more. Performances are acoustic or lightly amplified, in a Bohemian-style, smoke-free setting. Plenty of free parking, including covered entrance with food and drink available for purchase. Tickets start at $17 for general admission (higher for reserved seating), available in advance only on Eventbrite.
