Calling all Youth Artists! Participate in the Wild Things Youth Art Contest today!
The Wild Things Youth Art Contest is held every year as a part of "Wild Things," Southeast Louisiana National Wildlife Refuges Complex's celebration of National Wildlife Refuge Week. Although the Wild Things 2021 event has been postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, SELA NWR is pleased to be able to still offer the Wild Things Youth Art Contest with a virtual exhibition in October.
This contest encourages youth ages 5-18 to engage with nature through art, showcasing wildlife and nature related art from young artists from throughout the region. Hopefully, this connection will inspire participants to care about and become stewards of their rich wildlife inheritance.
The deadline to enter is 4 p.m., October 20, 2021. Contest rules, entry form, a gallery of past winning artworks and resource list of native plants and animal species in the area are all available at https://www.fws.gov/refuge/Big_Branch_Marsh/COSA/WT_Youth_Art.html.
To request information to be mailed to you, please call: 985-882-2021.
Ribbons and prizes will be awarded to all first, second and third place winners, and honorable mention winners will receive ribbons.
