You may notice that the parking lot at Bear's is usually full. This is because locals know, Bear's po-boys are consistently scrumptious (try the roast beef with debris), and although po-boys are on the menu at restaurants across Louisiana, unique (try the Ferdie). Maybe it's the bread. Maybe it's the sauces and meats. Or at this family-run restaurant, maybe it's the love. Whatever it is, Bear’s po-boys regularly top regional best-of lists, never mind the simple storefront and limited hours--Bear's is open for lunch only, Tuesday through Friday. Ordering ahead and picking up is your best bet, though dine in is available, too. And, if you've got a sweet tooth, their giant chocolate chunk cookies satisfy.
