Open by appointment and for special events only. Tanya F. Dischler has a fresh, unique way of expressing her love of nature. Her everyday subjects--animals, birds, fish, frogs, and the flora and fauna of South Louisiana--come to life set against backgrounds of skillfully applied, bright acrylics and watercolors. Possessing considerable facility with technique and imagery, Dischler uses a vivid palette to create compelling compositions with all the visceral impact of abstraction, while the main subject matter of each painting remains easily recognizable. Dischler has participated in and won local, national and international exhibitions. Her work is in numerous private and corporate collections in the United States, France, England and Australia. In addition, her work was published on the cover of The Journal Of the American Veterinary Medical Association in honor of an award received at LSU's Animals In Art exhibit, and in Art Business News, American Artist Magazine, Watercolor Magazine, New Orleans Magazine, Day Trips from New Orleans, Festival of Fins, and more.
