Chef Luke Hidalgo and wife Marci Hidalgo bring Southern comfort food to the little red-roofed cottage at 544 Girod Street in Old Mandeville, the former Vianne's Tea House, for indoor and outdoor dining just five blocks from Mandeville's lakefront.
Chef Luke Hidalgo is a former sous chef at New Orleans' world famous Commander's Palace and was recently Executive Chef at Palmetto's on the Bayou, Slidell's premier spot for upscale, waterfront dining.
Open for breakfast, lunch and brunch, Chef Luke prepares a hearty menu of Louisiana favorites like red beans and rice, seafood gumbo, po-boys and muffalettas, as well as comfort food like Pot Roast with Sour Cream & Onion Potatoes, Cayenne Glazed Carrots and Pan Gravy, and the unique Oysters Marcí, made with carmelized fennel, bacon, mushrooms, Herbsaint and pecan smoke.
Daily lunch specials are offered, and Fridays are all about fried chicken. Small plates feature pork chops, pastrami & swiss on toast, chicken and dumplings with gnocchi, and various sandwiches, salads and traditional breakfast items. Come for weekend brunch and try the Blue Crab & Boudin omelet. A family-friendly place, a kids' menu is also offered, as well as decadent desserts like blood orange custard and a chocolate brownie with banana slices and berries.
Hambone serves breakfast and lunch from 7am to 4pm on Mondays and Wednesday to Friday (closed Tuesdays), and brunch on Saturdays and Sundays from 10am to 4pm.
